DIDIPOKA

world ethno beats

Didipoka is connected with music through all her life, starting with the guitar lessons at the age of 6. Later on she finished the formal music school inPiran. In her teens she listened to punk music and followed the Seattle's grunge scene for many years.

After moving to Slovene capital Ljubljana, she started discovering the charms of electronic music and started visiting different kinds of parties. She was especially drawn to psychedelicgoa trance scene and visited lots of trance parties and festivals around the world.

During the long stay in Spain, where, at that time there was no psytrance scene, she started performing as a DJane. First just for fun on a few birthday parties. After returning to Slovenija, she was invited to do her DJ sets in different clubs like Gromka, Jalla Jalla, Mizzart,Channel zero (all Metelkova city, Ljubljana), K4 (Ljubljana), Puloveria (Sezana), at several illegal open-air parties... She also performed abroad: the support of Overwater Underground (Croatia, 2005), Free open-air party (Sarajevo, BiH), Memorial of Sheks (Zagreb, Croatia).

Didipoka likes cultural diversities, that's why she studied and now has a degree in cultural anthropology. She is traveling alone, since she was 16. The countries that marked her mostly were India,Morroco, Portugal and Spain. She traveled most of the Western Europe and most of the former Yugoslav republics.

Travel, music and observation of everything is her way of life. During her travels has collected lots of ethno music and gradually started feeling the connection with the gipsies from the Balkans, as well as the ones from Rajahstan (India), where she met a wonderful gipsy family... She started spining the world music three years ago, when she began working in Jalla Jalla.

Not long ago, a new door opened for her, when she met some other gipsy enthusiasts in Ljubljana and started performing more frequently again.
