GIPSY JUNGLE PRESENTS MUNICIPALE BALCANICA & DJ GAETANO FABRI

Friday, the 13th of June will bring us some of the hottest world/ethno/balkan/gipsy artists in Europe. Gipsy Jungle will host Municipale Balcanica from the hot Italian South and one of the most requested DJ's at the moment Gaetano Fabri.
Municipale Balcanica
plays well-known Gypsy, Klezmer and Yiddish sounds of Eastern Europe with warmer, radical aspects of their homeland; the Mediterranean Puglia of Southern Italy. But that's not all, each musician contributes something different. If you listen to their music, you can hear the drum, guitar, and bass players maintain a certain rock-attitude belonging to their former experiences in rock bands. The result is integrated and surprising, and it gives new expressions and meanings to the songs. These varying influences compliment each other perfectly to create Municipale’s unique style of world fusion.
In the last four years Municipale Balcanica have played over 300 gigs, growing into a consistent feature on the international festival circuit. LAst year their song “Hava Nagila” was published on the Gypsy Beats and Balkan Bangers Vol. 2 compilation.
Municipale Balcanica live performance is a frenetic fusion involving Eastern and Mediterranean rhythms and original compositions, which never fails to get the audience moving.

World famous DJ Gaetano Fabri, popularized gypsy music among the club scenes throughout Europe by blending clubbing culture with traditional music. All of the Taraf de Haidouks, Fanfare Ciocarlia, Balkan Beat Box, Kočani Orkestar and Mahala rai Banda fans, you have to check him out, since he remixed them all!!!
Impassioned jazz musician and percussionist from Brussels was spinning techno and house music since 1991. But in 2000 he started his love affair with world music and began to fuse traditional music from the Gypsy culture, Balkan brass bands of Eastern Europe, Klezmer and Russian folk song. Fabri's remix of Siki Siki Baba by Kočani Orkestar, appears on the first volume of the now hugely popular Electric Gypsyland series. He is a resident at Divan du Monde (Paris) with his French colleagues Dj Tagada and DJ Click. His solo performances as well as the performances with the magnificent Mahala Rai Banda from Romania bring him around the world, from Europe to New York and even Mexico.
Also behind the turntables, chilling you out from the concert or warming you up for the DJ set, will be miss Didipoka.
