This Wednesday at Zlati zob we go to Croatia. As the DJ guest of the night, Mario Batelič, puts it, we will take an exciting musical walk through a known unknown neighbourhood. From the melancholy of Međimurje, over teasing and also glooming Istrian songs, to psychedelic music of Zagorje and Dalmacija, spiced up with almost punkish and rockish variations on all previously stated. A not to miss opportunity for an inside look into Croatian music tradition!

FANFARA COMPLEXA - HUNGARIANS ROCKIN'IT MOLDAVIAN STYLE

We will have a rare opportunity to listen to Moldavian music on Friday in Zlati zob, when Fanfara Coplexa will appear in Slovenija for the first time.
We have no idea what do Hungary and Moldavia have in coment, nore why did this group of jolly Hungarians decided to play Moldavian music. We will ask them of course, as soon we meet them, but till then here is some info about the band.
The group plays traditional Moldavian folk dance music. They added a saxophone to the traditional list of instruments (flute, lute and drum). This instrument is becoming more and more popular in the territories, where this music is coming for.
The group has been on manny tours, which have taken them to remote and exotic places like China and Kurdistan. This will be their Slovenian premiere!
The leader of the band Peter Bede is also a member of bands BeshoDrom and Balogh Kálmán Gipsy Cimbalom Band.

MEMBERS:
Péter Bede - tenor & alt saxophone
Csaba Tűzkő - alt saxophone and tarogato (Hungarian, wooden wind instrument similar to clarinet)
Szabolcs Roka - koboz (ancient lute)
Felix Benke - drums

VISIT MEXICO BEFORE THE WORLD ENDS

Or even better, let's meet there, if we survive the catastrophe scheduled for today. What we are talking about? Some claim, that when the scientists turn up the atom accelator in CERN in Switzerland today, a terrible accident will happen. The dark scenario says, a black hole will arise, the earthquakes will shake the Earth, which will eventually open, disapear and turn to light, just before everything would be over.
So, if we survive this, we need a break. And Mexico seems like a good place to take one. If that is to far for you, let us all just meet in Zlati zob, where Luna Morado will take us on a musical journey with the music of mariachis, ranchero, and also norteño, banda and cumbia. Viva Mexico!

GJ REPORT: SURVIVING BALKANISTAN...

...was not easy, but we did it! It was the openning evening of a fresh Haris Pilton Production season, and the man with the golden glasses made sure we were jumping till the Gromka crew kindly kicked us out. To early I guess, but the truth is, we all came in very late (lot's of us was on the Goran Bregović concert; you can read the GJ report infiltrated on national televisions website, if you understand Slovene).
So late, the mayority missed the warm up by DJ Tito. But we are sure, it was excellent as always!
We did hear the fresh sound of Haris Pilton though, and it is some cool shit.
The two main guest of the evening DJ's Sid Data and DJ Jasharov shared the stage, and played a very danceable, happy and jumpy one on one. So nice, the morning came too soon again!

GJ PRESENTS: CARNE CRUDA (USA)

Life returned to Ljubljana, and Zlati zob is starting with the pumped-up the season.
On Thursday raw and ready to rock, Carne Cruda hits the scene hard with the unbridled energy of the rowdiest latin music. Blending Surf with Cumbia, Son with Soca, and traditional with indie, the Carne Crudeboys (and Crudegirl) are a plastic flamingo on the neatly kempt lawn of Salsa music, jumping and shouting all over the tennis courts of the Latin traditionalists. When the Buena Vista Social Club gets Red Hot Chili Pepper-ified and They Might Be Giants eat Willie Colon, you know Carne Cruda is rocking the house. Produced by four-time Grammy-nominated producer Greg Landau (Susana Baca, Maldita Vecindad), don't miss Carne Cruda.
Carne Cruda is a Latin and Caribbean dance band from Oakland, California specializing in rocking down global capitalism by playing booty-shaking grooves to move your feet too!
