GJ RECOMMENDS: KAL IS BACK

We have written about Kal, we have hosted Kal, and we have visited a lot of Kal's concerts. And we are doing it again on Monday, when Serbian rock'n'roma sensation returns to Zlati zob. Kal is an explosive mixture of energetic rock'n'roll, Balkan rooted blues, playing wild Gipsy music, while flirting with a dance beat. The group consists of top Serbian musicians who explore the treasure of Roma music and mix it with modern musical influences. Kal's concerts are a musical excursion to the Roma history, myth, tradition, prejudice, pathos and pride. Founding member and principal conductor of the group, charismatic vocalist and excellent guitarist Dragan Ristić fascinates audience with his charming Gipsy smile and great voice, while the band filles the air with sweet sound of music. Sooner or later audience starts to sway in their rhythm. But beware! Do not expect a typical Roma music concert, where you hear the evergreens like Ederlezi or Kalashnikov. Far from that. Kal is different, urban, Kal is rock'n'roll. And an excellent cure for the heavy burden of new working week. We'll be there, will you?
