July really spoiled us with whole lot of good music. First Guča na Krasu, then Gipsy night in Ljubljana with Mahala Rai Banda and Šukar performing. Šukar started easy, but soon speeded it up and people responded with getting on their feet and dancing. We heard songs like Keme merav, Maruška, Sila kale bal, O đila, Fato mori, Opa cupa ter Cigani ljubljat.
Although they did a very good job, we have to admit the real stars of the evening were Mahala Rai Banda. They prove time after time, why they are one of the best Gipsy bands in the world. The band, who - as the audience - was in a very good mood played the songs from both of it's albums Mahala Raï Banda (Mahalageasca, Red Bula, Spoitoresa, Kibori, Iest Sexi...) and Ghetto Blasters (Solo para ti, Hora Din Mahala, Kolo baro, Ding Deng Dong). With surgical percision and fast as lightning. Mixing the traditional and modern rhythms just perfectly. They are the masters!
